Wow, so it has been a while since I have updated. Things have been kind of crazy around here. Between work, Mason, spending time with Rob, housework, and the holidays, I have not had a lot of time. I have plenty of time at work, but unfortunately I can't do updates from work. :-/
As you see from my last post full of pictures, Mason was baptized on November 4. Mason's godparents are Vanessa/ Aunt Sassa (Rob's twin sister) and our friend Tim/Uncle Tim. Mason didn't cry when he was baptized. :) Our pastor was quite surprised because the water kind of cold. He did very good, and we had a wonderful day.
On November 26, Mason had his 4 month check up. He has gotten big! He weighs 15 pounds 5.7 ounces, and is 26 and 1/8 inches long. He has tried rice cereal, and is starting to enjoy it. He loves to sit up, and jump in his jump-a-roo. He loves to "talk" it is so cute. He has definitely become a lot more vocal now. He is rolling over from his back to belly, and it is not on accident either. :) He is definitely rolling over on his own. I haven't seen him roll over from belly to back as much, or as often. He likes to lay on his side. He likes to play with his toys.
For Halloween, we dressed him as Tigger. :) He was oh so cute! Our Trick-or-Treating here got postponed until the same day as Mason's baptism, well the night, due to Hurricane Sandy. Speaking of Sandy, here at our house we only lost power during the night. It went out about 9 pm and came back on between 1 and 2 am. It went back out again for 10 min about 2:30am, and than again when we went back to sleep. We stayed at the house, in the living room. The only damage that happened was our upstairs neighbor's dining room window, I believe the storm window, blew out and shattered in the driveway. It was just the outer part of his dining room window. It woke us up, and unfortunately our upstairs neighbor was not home. But he did get home within a half hour, and everything was okay upstairs. We got the driveway cleaned up, and everything else was all good.
We spent Thanksgiving at Rob's sister Heather's house, but unfortunately Rob had to work that night. We had a good night with everyone. Rob's other sister Mal and I went out Black Friday shopping. Yes, we are crazy, but we really weren't going for anything in specific, it was more for the experience and if we came across anything we were looking at. We did get some pretty good deals. So, in the end it was worth the savings. It wasn't too crazy when we went, we were towards the end of the first rush, so it helped.
Mason has seen Santa 3 times already! The first time was at Rob's unit's Family Day. I wasn't able to go because of work, but I am guessing they had a good time. Mason had to sit on Santa's lap to get his present. He got some bowls with lids, a Donald Duck DVD, some Cars (the Disney movie) puzzles, a sippy cup, spoons, teethers, plastic keys, and the Fisher Price Seahorse that lights up and plays music. He really enjoys his seahorse. That same night he saw Santa again, at our city's Light Up Lakewood event. He also met Buddy the Elf, the Grinch, and saw fireworks! Mason did really well with both Santa's! :)
Yes that only is 2 times, but keep reading for the third!
This past weekend Mason and I went up to Buffalo to see my stepmom Danielle (known to Mason as Mimi), Sydney, and Danielle's family. Also, it was my cousin Bella's first birthday!! On Saturday, we went and had Breakfast with Santa! Great food and a great time with family! Mason got fussy in line waiting for Santa, but as soon as he sat on Santa's lap, he was fine! He is my very social guy. Now, hopefully, we won't have any issues with him meeting Santa next year! But, back to the trip to Buffalo, that night was Bella's party! It was at a daycare, and everyone had a blast. I think he was a little overwhelmed with all of the people, because he didn't fuss for a bottle until I took him away from all the commotion. He did start to get fussy for sleep, and he slept for a bit at the party, but did good all around. I was glad they had a nursery there so I could take him to a quiet room for a bit so he could sleep. The rest of the weekend, we spent time with family, and hung out. We got to open up some gifts on Sunday before leaving because we wouldn't see some family at Christmas.
I think that is we are caught up on everything here for us!
I do have to say though that I have a wonderful fiance. :) He has made over 600 Christmas cookies, and majority of the pumpkin bread. Macaroons still have to be made and the cookies have to be decorated, but I have to say I am super appreciative that he is helping with the baking. He is the one home during the days, so it helps out a lot. For those wondering why he is home during the day, he has some PTO from work left over for the year so he is off all week except 2 nights a week, for the next week. This was also for the past 2 weeks. I know he enjoys being able to be at home with Mason, for their time together. :) He does so well with Mason. He is a wonderful dad. :) I am so grateful to have a wonderful and amazing fiance.
We have put our Christmas tree up. :) And... how can I forget?!?!.... Mason has an elf! His name is Alvin. More on Alvin and his adventures to come!
Just in case I can't update beforehand, Merry Christmas and Happy New Years!
I will be posting a picture blog hopefully with in the next few days. It is time for bed for me. Good night!
